Lawyers are leaving law - Yup, big and small leave law because AI is taking their ability to earn away.
Lawyers are leaving law - Yup, big and small leave law because AI is taking their ability to earn away.
Snapshot is from Jamie Tso LegalQuants newsletter...one I actually read
He's echoing a trend I also encountered: a legal market contraction
Lawyers would not leave if demand for legal was booming.
The opposite: supply for legal is exploding and weirdly enough..
..lawyers are making it worse by leaving to start or join AI companies
Meaning more supply...
Remember I called Garry Tan from Y Combinator post deceptive...well its upgraded to a lie - https://lnkd.in/eqZDsmGw
To clarify: there is a layer in legal that can't be disrupted by AI because its subjective
Subjective matter is technically impossible for AI to process according to Demis Hassabis - https://lnkd.in/emcXxYGj
That layer does not expand nor contract (pardon the pun) and has remained stable over millennia
In short: a lot of objective legal work will be automated but that work was never core nor meaningful to the bottom line.
My message:
if you're really good at the objective part - leave
if you are really good at the subjective part - you'll be rich ๐ฐ
Personal note: I was good at the objective part ๐ | 20 comments on LinkedIn
