Legalcomplex Import

Chrome extension · version 0.1.2

Copy your own LinkedIn profile, or a company page, into your Legalcomplex account so Monocle can personalise its research to your background and your company. LinkedIn does not serve profile pages to servers, so the extension reads the page in the browser you are already signed in to, on your click, and sends only the sections you keep to legalcomplex.com. You review them once more on your profile page before anything is saved.

Install

The listing is on its way to the Chrome Web Store. Pilot users receive an unlisted install link from us; if you are one and have not, write to raymond@legalcomplex.com.

  1. Install the extension in Chrome.
  2. On your profile page, under Chrome extension, click Generate token and copy it. It is shown once.
  3. Open the extension's settings, paste the token, click Test connection.
  4. Open your LinkedIn profile or your company's page, click the extension, then Read this page, check the sections, Send to Legalcomplex.
  5. Back on your profile page, review the sections and keep the ones you want.

What it can and cannot do

  • It runs only when you click its button. Nothing runs on page load or in the background.
  • It reads the LinkedIn tab you are looking at, and no other tab.
  • It contacts legalcomplex.com and no other site. LinkedIn is never contacted by the extension.
  • It never sees or asks for your LinkedIn password.
  • A section it cannot read is reported as unreadable, never filled in. If LinkedIn changes its page, that is what you will see, and an update follows.
  • You can revoke its token on your profile page at any time; the extension stops working the same second.

Privacy

What the extension collects and where it goes is set out in our Privacy Policy, in the section on personal data we collect. In one line: your own LinkedIn sections, on your click, to your own account, pending your review.
